When cooking chorizo is it supposed to melt and become mostly liquid?

I had expected it to keep its shape like most sausage, or even ground sausage meat is more like hamburger. Mine is mostly liquid with very little solid. I am wondering what will be left if I cook it down.

I don't know what kind of chorizo you bought, but mine has always done what you expected yours to do. I've never had it turn to liquid.

When I've cooked chorizo, it's done the same thing . . . I'm not sure why (maybe the fat content? The seasonings?).

My solution to this has been to buy one package of chorizo and one package of regular pork sausage, then brown them together. The seasonings and flavor of the chorizo will make all the meat taste great, and no one will ever know.
