When cooking: Can i substitute Olive Oil for Butter or Vegetable Oil?

I'm cooking bone-in Chicken breast and I wanted to know since I don't have Olive Oil. Can I substitute Olive Oil for butter or vegetable oil??..Or would it really not matter if I did so??
