when computer hooked up to tv screen messed up?

ok so when I hook up my computer to the TV it comes up with a very messed up screen...I have done some tests and found out it is only on my computer.....is there a way to fix this?
 
You probably need to upgrade your graphics card. If you have one integrated with your motherboard, it may be too old. Find one on TigerDirect.com or Newegg for $50-60.

If is is an analogue television, you need a video card with VGA-out or else you'll get significant image distortion such as banding, an unstable vertical and horizontal grip, no colour, `salt and pepper` and various other artifacts.
