When can you get your beta fish to mate?

i have a boy and a girl beta fish in seperate tanks.i want to breed them,how do you now when they are ready?
 
When the boy has a bubble nest, it means he is ready to mate. You need the bubble nest.

By the way, breeding bettas can be tricky. Sometimes it works... sometimes it doesn't. You'll want to do a little research on breeding bettas before you just toss them in together.
