When can / should I take a home pregnancy test?

Hi ladies! My husband and I are TTC and I was hoping I could get some thoughts and advice back from those who have experienced what I am going through. I have somewhat irregular periods but my shortest cycle is 21 days. I started my last period on 6/23 and we started DTD on 7/4 for 4 days. On 7/9 I started having pink when I wiped and now have to wear a panty liner, but still not like my period. I got a wierd taste in my mouth like I ate a hand full of pennies yesterday which has been getting progressively stronger???? Is this a symptom of anything or just something wierd? If I am experiencing implantation bleeding, how soon can I take a HPT? Thank you so much for your advice and stories!
Ok, so more details. I first noticed a very tiny pink when checking my CM in the evening of the 8th... I know TMI but details are important. Then the 9th I really only noticed it when I wiped and was pink or brown. Then today I am wearing a liner but is still brown... I was just worried about how long or how heavy the bleeding should be. I'd say 2 liners a day if I have to keep using them.

I would recommend not taking a test till 14 days after you noticed the spotting, or work out the longest cycle you have had and take that as your cycle and take a test when you have missed your period.

As for the metallic taste you described, it is a sign of pregnancy, however, I have been experiencing that for two years now and only been trying for a baby for one year. I've always been messed up. Lol.

It is possible that it is implantation bleeding, so I would wait for 14 days after it started.

Having the taste of pennies in your mouth is definitely a good sign. And it sounds to me like you have implantation bleeding. If it does not get any worse, then you are 100% preggers. Wait until likee the 25th or 26th and take a hpt with first morning urine. Good luck!!
