When can I expect a letter from a marine in boot camp?

My boyfriend left a little over a week ago and said he would write me in about two weeks, but I'm not sure when they actually are allowed to write, i was wondering if anyone knew?
 
I know. When he first got to camp, he went to the reception station. He gets to write two letters, to let family know he is safe and sound. From there he goes through a period of total control. He is busy, give hime time. but you can write him and he will get your letter.
 
My boyfriend left for marines boot camp on Monday, August 17th. I just got a form letter and first personal letter from him yesterday. He didn't date it and wasn't allowed to write my name on the envelope. But it included his address. He must have sent it last week-which was his second week. So you'll hear from him the end of the second week..if not the beginning of the third. It depends on his Drill Instructor and when they allow them to write. He will get 1 hour of free time each night and 4 hours on Sunday morning. So expect something the beginning of the 3rd week!
