When camping in the wild?

they say not to leave your food open, and unprotected, to avoid attracting a bear or other predators, but what about when you are cooking them? Won't this still attract bears? Just curious.
 
That's a good question. I haven't been "real camping" but I do remember hearing that you have to bury the food waste and leftovers and your (human lol yuck!) waste deep in the ground away from your campsite so they won't be attracted to your camp site.
 
yup, bears love burgers and dogs...ummmm ummmm good. I think park rangers say that the noise and smell of people is enough to discourage the bears during the day. They come out to get the tasty stuff they smelled after the people go to sleep, which is why your supposed to put all that stuff away, really, really away-- cause they give up quick and move on if they can't find what they are looking for. Less contact with bears is always better than more.
