...ringing tone or european one? My friend is currently visiting Budapest. When my friend was working in Spain and I used to call their mobile I would hear the slow single "on/off" type calling tone, but when I am calling their mobile I am still hearing what I call the "British two ring type calling tone". Is it that the calling tones are the same in Hungary as in the UK?
 
First (this will be a surprise to many of our Brit friends) Britain IS in Europe! Second, you will hear the ring-tone of the service your friend's phone is picking up. If his phone is roaming and latches on to a Hungarian service, it will use that service's tone. The most important thing is that it is really ringing!
