are compatible? My 16 yr. old son wants a new stereo installed in his '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee. He wants a Sony XPLODE 12" subwoofer. I know that the subwoofer's specs. are: handles 350 watts of RMS power; 1200 watts of Peak power; 4-ohm voice coil; with 5-way binding post. I need to know what stereo reciever wattage he needs as far as being compatible with this subwoofer. I also need to know what, if any, amp he would need.
This is to be a Christmas gift, and like so many other people, we need best, but, minimum cost.
All info will be greatly appreciated.
