When backpacking through europe what do females need to worry about?

I know we have our menstrual periods and wear bras and aren't like guys. What do you if you are on your period, i know typical things like bring feminine hygienic products and does is make a difference if i use pads or tampons? Should i bring more than one of change of bras?
 
tampons are cleaner but you can buy some there too. also bring clothes that wont take up too much room and bring an all in one soap shampoo.
 
do what you'd usually do
And bring more than one bra.. what would you wear while doing wash?
