When are they going to show [REC] 2 in the UK?

I was impatiently waiting for this until I read a bit about what actually happens in it. From what I know it sounRAB like pretty much one of the worst sequels in the history of cinema.

I wish that was an actual indication of quality. Sadly I know that, plot-wise at least, there's no chance of it not disappointing me. They take the subtle indications from the ending of the first movie and bash you over the head with them for a good 90 minutes or so until there is no mystery or ambiguity of any kind.

'Aliens' definitley has substance. Many believe it to be better than the first (including me).

[REC]2 sounRAB pretty good to me. What else could they have done with a sequel really? It was either the "go in and wipe them out" route that they've taken, or "lets do the exact same thing in another building" which quite frankly would have been lazy.

I've heard nothing but universal praise for it so far.

It's the sub-par continuation of the story that I dislike. The supernatural element was an interesting twist towarRAB the end of the first movie, but they've taken the ball and ran a little too far with it from what I know. I have read a lot of praise for it, but it's mostly been about good "BOO" moments or impressive kill sequences. That's not what I care about in a movie, horror or otherwise.

I wouldn't write anything off before you've seen it.

I can't wait to watch it. The ending was the freakiest and most interesting part of the first film.

Well I know exactly what happens in the movie from scene one to the ending, which is how I've formed my opinion so far. I can't see it being changed by actually watching.

I'm not too bothered usually, a good film is a good film to me, whether I know what's gonna happen or not. Not that I always go out of my way to find out beforehand, but I'd read some comments about how disappointing the film was, and since I loved the original so much I really wanted to know if the comments were justified. And they totally were, I'm afraid.

I kinda find that to be a rather bizarre statement but each to there own! :) If I had read a synopsis of for example the scenes in the Penthouse from REC and inparticular the nightvision sequence on paper first, it certainly wouldn't have had the same effect as me actually watching Miss Medeiros's making her first appearance!

I'm gonna wait for REC 2 to come out on DVD and watch it then. I saw the first REC at the cinema and got the DVD too and much preferred watching it at home (too many distractions at a cinema imo)
