When are Pixar gonna jump from the arse of Disney

The Future

in the last few years, Disney's biggest hits have come from this company.

I know Disney make other films like Pearl Habour etc, but i'm on about Children films.

Treasure Planet, Lilo and Stitch IMO Crap compared to the likes of:

Lion King
Aladdin
Jungle Book
Little Mermaid

So thy've jumped in with Pixar and made classics such as:

Toy Story 1&2
Bugs Life
Monstser Inc
Finding Nemo

This is all Pixar's work, nothing to do with disney, they have given them they're name and a few millions.

Ok i understand that Disney is a huge name, and they needed a few millions to start the 90 mins film. but they have made over a billion from the 4 films, so they gotta have they're money now to go alone.

Disney are probally laughing all the way, dont do any work, make 50% probally of the takings, and then go and make theyre own crap films.

Pixar Wake up and get rid of that greedy Disney

and Disney, make some proper films, the last 4 years have been terrible.

Fewwwwwwwww

Well I agree with some of your comments about Disney. However, Pixar wouldn't be in the relationship with Disney if they weren't getting something out of it.

Pixar are a VERY small company and simply having Disney take care of the marketing/toy tie-ins/distribution/production processes has many benefits. It allows Pixar to get on with what they do best, it VASTLY increases revenues and at the end of the day Disney's name carries with it kudos around the world (not that I agree with that view).

Personnally I preffered the short stuff Pixar made before it got involved with Disney. Their Disney movies seem to lack a certain quality that the shorts had. I think they are lacking in the fun department and concentrating too much on the realism and sophistication of the animation instead. I still don't think they have a movie that can beat Shrek for shear entertainment value (finding Nemo excepted 'cos I haven't seen that yet to compare).

Do Disney not own at least a part of Pixar???

I agree though, since The Lion King (surely the best Disney film of the 1990's), the only good Disney films that I've really enjoyed have been Toy Story & Toy Story 2.

I think part of the problem is that now people are bored of traditional animation and would rather see manga or computer-generated wizardry (remember The Lion King was the first partly computer-generated Disney film).

No Disney only have a distribution deal with them...

1) Manga (and by Manga i assume you mean Anime, as Manga is a brand like Hoover is a brand of vaccuum) is traditional animation. Its just Japanese.

2) It was hardly partly computer animated... The only scene using computers was the buffalo stampede.. and even then it was only around 15 seconRAB long!

I believe Disney will keep their contract with Pixar, but Pixar will get a lot more out of it than the old contract !

The main problem is the poor stories, the poor script and the bad acting they've had since Lion King!

anyway, people forget films like Lilo and Stitch and the Pooh movies are making cash hand over fist... they only concentrate on the traditional October Half Term Disney releases...

From what I understand there is something like a 5 film deal that Pixar have with Disney which I don't think includes Toy story sequels. They want to break away as it will get them a lot more freedom so will probably make films thereselves then offer films to the studios to distribute.
It doesn't look like there will be many more traditional animated films from anyone which is a shame, I used to get annoyed when people would only go to see these films if they were by Disney as great films like the Iron giant and the prince of Egypt were overlooked but after some poor films by Disney everything is going CGI.
I think Beauty and the beast was the first with computers, the ballroom scene.
