I was wondering if anyone else out there was dealing with this? A few days ago I accidentally ate some wheat gluten-it was added to a store bought can of beef broth that had changed their recepie (read those lables everytime!) anyway I'v been sick for 3 days now and can't seem to get over this (I have the IBS type systems along with the headaches and swelling joints-not pretty) does anyone know a way to flush this out of your system ? I've been drinking lots of water. - this is not an alleregy . Any help would be greatly appeciated

I'm not sure how to flush it out of the system, but, I did want to tell you something I've recently heard about that most gluten intolerant people may not know. When you lick the sticky strip on envelopes it has gluten in the glue. So you may be getting gluten in ways you never imagined! Wild huh?
I wonder if it's on the licking stamps too?

It depends, are you gluten intolerant or do you have Celiac Disease?

If you're GI, getting enough water and electrolytes can help speed the symptoms along. Although honestly, it's still a waiting game, you'll have some symptoms till the gluten is out of your system. I've never used it myself but some GI folks use an OTC remedy you can get at the HFS, 'Gluten-eez' or something like that. It doesn't work for Celiacs.

If you have Celiac Disease nothing can stop your immune system from reacting once it's been triggered. (except time - attacks usually last 3 to 7 days, though they can last weeks in severe cases)

PS ~ Betty Crocker is coming out with GF cake, cookie and brownie mixes this month. Look for them in your regular grocery store. None in Florida yet, but I keep looking! :)

Thanks for the replys:), I'm not sure if I'm a celiac or just intolerant ,I need to get to a dr and find out. I had no idea gluten was used in glue type things - something to think about. I am doing better but I'm still not 'right' , again thanks for the replys
