What's your training program for backing and breaking a young horse?

From a newborn to harder work and specialized training beginning. I know lots of people start to ride them at different times, and I was just wondering what your programme was, and why you use that particular one? Please be detailed! I know a reasonable amount about the horse anatomy etc so detailed references to development patterns of joints would be very very interesting and much appreciated! I know what the full-grown horse's skeleton and muscles look like but I don't know much about their developement and it's effects on training. (Basically, please don't simplify it too much =] )
