What's your idea of a diverse music taste?

That's how I look at it.

One of the guys at my school automatically writes music off if it's country or pop or rap, cuz you know HARD ROCK IS FTW.

My definition is of someone who is open minded about listening to other types of music other than the predominant one they're attached to. If they aren't ignorant, and willing to explore, then that's having a diverse taste in music to me. You don't necessarily have to have a World Music collection - you just have to sort of say, "hey, that would be cool to have."

Normally, you'd follow the link Alfred posted and type your username in. But since it's down, you can't right now.

Mine is/was at 112.

As long as it makes musical sense (its not just some idiot strumming random notes on a guitar while a drum player beats off timed "rythems") then I'll listen to it. I hardly have a complaint/dislike about music.

Lol, mine is a lot higher than it should be. My first and second genre groups make up 50% or so of my recorded listening habits, and guess what they are? Punk and punk rock. :D

I'm very open to new genres and artists, I try not to judge an artist based on their genre. I don't like most of the metal or rap that I've heard, but I don't hate metal or rap by default.

Heck, I've become a fan of a bunch of banRAB that I previously thought I would hate (Radiohead, Sex Pistols, Tool) so opening my mind to more than just what I was raised on did wonders for my musical diversity.

I somewhat agree with that, yeah. As long as they're open to new things, right? Doesn't nessacarily have to be their favorite thing in the world, but as long as they don't dismiss everything immediately.

Then again I also agree with Minstrel.

And Jack... that's... impressive. Ooft.

Almost everything. If someone says "hey man you gotta listen to this Indian punk rock music played during ritualistic rape and murder" and you respectfully decline I'd still give you a shot at being open minded.
