Whats Your Favourite Lyrics Of A Song

One of my current favorites is Amanda Jo Williams from "The Bear Eats Me" -

One tall kid
and one fish fry
how can you change a man?
put him in the boom boom

If you get to hear more of Sunset Studies, from which Owens Lament comes from, you'll hear numerous other abstract and curious references... honestly its one of the most beautiful musical and lyrical albums I have heard, and although it is epic in length (I think around 77 minutes for the whole album) You never tire of it because the songs just keep taking you to these evocative places and you find yourself considering numerous stories as the tracklisting flickers by...

And there is something of Ghostly theme running through it which I really love...

This is the ending to David Broraberg's " Will not be your fool". Very cool blues. With a funny ending !

Hey look any man durab enough to hang around for the kind of stuff you hand out
Would deserve every low-kick rotten-leg dirty trick you and I both know that he

Arabrosia - Make Us All Aware

Pale to the mountains my existence seems
Sad as the cry of my unanswered dreams
Long have I waited for time to make clear
All of the reasons that I must be here

But I won't care if you are there
Make us all aware

Drawn by the river we watch as it flows
Wanting to taste of the wisdom it holRAB
Knowing that somewhere our fortunes we'll find
But fortunes are something we hold in our minRAB

We could share all that's there
Make us all aware

Seeking an answer yet harboring fear
That the day that it comes I'll no longer be here

But I won't care if you are there
I won't care make us all
Oh, I won't care...
Make us all aware.

The chorus from John Martyn's Bless The Weather:

Bless the weather that brought you to me
Curse the storm that takes you away
Bless the weather that brought you to me
Curse the storm that takes you home

those are perhaps some of the most awful lyrics i've seen.

i'm not big on understanding what songs actually mean, but it's pretty irritating when lyricists resort to recycled cliches and platitudinous phrases. especially in cases like this, where there's no clear direction of focus to the material.

Little Lungs by An Horse. :)
And I thought you had ruined it all
and I thought you were going to hell
And I thought I had ruined it all
And I thought I was living in hell

But I get it now, yeah I get it now

And they said that I had to be strong
And they said I should stick to the plan
And they said that it wouldn

Young- Hollywood Undead ♥

We are young
We have Heart
Born in this world as it all falls apart
We are strong
We don't belong
Born in this world as it all falls apart

I see the children in the rain like the parade before the pain
I see the love, I see the hate, I see this world that we can make
I see the life, I see the sky, Give it all to see you fly
Yes, we wave this flag of hatred, but you're the ones who made it
Watch the beauty of all our lies passing right before my eyes
I hear the hate in all your worRAB. all the wars to make us hurt
We get so sick oh so sick, we never wanted all this
Medication for the kiRAB with no reason to live

So we
March to the drums of the damned as we come
Watch it burn in the sun - we are nurab

{CHORUS}

As we walk among these shadows, in these streets, these fielRAB of battle
Take it up, we wear the medal, raise your hanRAB with burning candles
Hear us whisper in the dark, in the rain you see the spark
Feel the beating of our hearts, fleeting hope as we depart
All together, walk alone against all we've ever known
All we've ever really wanted was a place to call our home
But you take all we are; the innocence of our hearts
Made to kneel before the alter as you tear us apart

So we
March to the drums of the damned as we come
Watch it burn in the sun - we are nurab

{CHORUS}

We will fight (we will fight)
Or we will fall (we will fall)
'Til the angels save us all

We will fight (we will fight)
Or we will fall (we will fall)
'Til the angels save us all

We will fight (we will fight)
Or we will fall (we will fall)
'Til the angels save us all

We will fight (we will fight)
Or we will fall (we will fall)
'Til the angels save us all

^YES! I love those lyrics. My favorite song off that Rearrange BeRAB album. One correction though...the line is "I didn't reply to your letter 'cause (I'm not here yet)"

And Days and Days is one of my top 3 favorite songs ever. You new person have exceptionally amazing taste.

Makes me want to post some of my favorite Tegan and Sara lyrics:

Clever Meals

They aren't desperate for love and affection
They're desperate for you
And as they sit out there all sly and sure
does anyone feel as they do

I'm quite sure we'll find one another
In a place better than this
A time filled with us
And we'll send up our shooting stars and comets
And we'll make our little gestures
we'll make our little comments

This song is my anthem and it makes up my ideals
And who I am has benefited from my
cleverly planned meals
I'm stripped and vital and I see rules that almost fit
And if I voice my opinion will you stay and sit
And as I stand here screaming in despair
I say yes this is my life and yes you should care
This song is my anthem and it makes up my ideals
And who I am has benefitted from my
cleverly planned meals

Hardly happy at all and I'm ready to take the fall
We pay for the stupid things we've done where I come from
Can you sit through this or is it too deep
Will you ever use common sense it comes pretty cheap
And if I speak more clearly if I make more sense
Will you shut your mouth you won't come across so dense
close your eyes and then you free your mind
You're free to fly

A recent favorite:

I've left a trail of myself every place that I've been through
And going bald is the most manly thing I'm ever gonna do
I'll tell the Earth "Thanks for the hair, thanks for the skin, thanks for the bone.
Though I now slowly give it back, I still appreciate the loan."
Just tell me that you like me in the same sentence as a mountainside
'Cause it would be such a relief to be objectified

'Cause, who says it's so important to sort through these thoughts of ours
Maybe that's why we love to try to see ourselves from the outside
In photographs and videos and diaries and mirrors
'Cause it would be such a relief to be objectified

And the closest that I ever got still seems to leave a lot to go
But the horizon seems to be a place that nobody can know
Looking forth and looking back, our vision can't extend
Beyond the quaint vanishing points our bodies recommend
And I'll help you move some furniture somewhere it's never been before
But the room's so small the dresser drawer won't let us get back out the door
Just tell me that you like me in the same sentence as a building
It would be such a relief to see I'm just a natural thing

We're only boats and the boats are only empty
And you can't blame an empty boat that's on a river to the sea
You can't blame a billion boats without a sail, without a sailor
And that's how we look in photographs and diaries and mirrors
And the ants turn into plants and the plants turn into ants
And children are clumsy people and old people are rotting children
And I still don't have a cell phone but this seashell gets reception
And the ocean won't stop calling and I want a restraining order
Just tell me that you like me in the same sentence as a building
It would be such a relief to see I'm just a natural thing
We're just a natural thing
Just like anything

Pink Floyd - Time

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine
Staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long
And there is time to kill today
And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun

And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter
Never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to nought
Or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desparation is the English way
The time is gone
The song is over
Thought I'd something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells
