What's your favourite 'comfort' film?

Yeah - this cheers me up when I'm in a Carpenter mood, but don't want the hardcore horror stuff :)

Yeah, I quite like the old 50s/60s Brit-flicks when I want some gentle comedy/drama, particularly the ones where they camp it up as much as they can :D

depenRAB what mood you are in. I think Amelie is a great comfort film, especially as I tend to fall asleep about half way through lol :D

Other than that I have seen Goodfellas and Dumb and Dumber more times than I can remember and pretty much know all the lines :)

Looks like I may have a trip into town to have a look at that. I find that most of the hitchcock films are 'comfortable' on the surface (just so long as you don't give them too much thought it's fine ;)). Another I love to watch when I need to 'chill out' is 'Rear Window' - satisfying each and every single time...

Star Wars. Even though I have it on tape and DVD, I'll still sit and watch the original if it turns up on TV.

Back to the Future - ditto. Lashings of feel good scenes.

Raiders of the Lost Ark - ditto again. Full of adventure.

As for family films, the Wizard of Oz is unbeatable. Oh and so is Toy Story.

Yes, another classic feel good film. It seems to be that some people have merely quoted their favourite films rather than picked out Comfort films

I seem to have accidentally clicked on the 'Films Currently Playing in Hell' thread.

I think Four Weddings and a Funeral will also be currently playing in Hell.

I think watching porn and not being able to 'beat it' would be more like agony than comfort! :(

Porn: Gotta be any of the 'Flesh Hunter' series
Non-porn: For me it's 'As Good As It Gets' - fantastic film.
