Whats your favourite Alien film?

As the title suggests; Whats your favourite out of the entire Alien series? From the original Alien through to the recent Alien Vs Predator!

Also, does anyone know each of the titles of each film. The only two i remember were "In space, no one can hear you scream" and "The bitch is back".

Anyways, for me Aliens 2 will always be the best! While not as complete terrifying as Alien, the action packed scenes along with 100s of aliens makes it a great film!

My worst is AvP. Never have i see such a pile of sh*te. It was a very very very poor attempt at trying to make a new branch to the Alien franchise!
 
Alien and Aliens are the best out of the lot. I don't think I got to the end of Alien 3 and Alien Resurection was abysmal, very dissapointing.

As for Alien vs Predator - it could have been fantastic but it ended up being dreadful.
 
I would predict that those who like the artier films would vouch for Alien while those who like the action-packed spectacles would go for Aliens. I'm not sure anyone would pick Alien 3 although I suspect many would argue that it is actually a good film, if you approach it in the right manner, that is, to forget your initial disappointment that it kills off all those characters we came to care for in Aliens. As for the last 2, well, Alien Ressurection is perfectly enjoyable to watch and has some striking scenes ie Ripley finding her "sisters", but isn't really as good as the first 3. As for AVP well I haven't seen it yet so dire are the things I've heard about it. I'm sure I will see it one day but I'm in no hurry!

As for my opinion...for many years I would have said Aliens, but now I would go for Alien as the better film, although really, its a silly argument to have: they are both great.
 
Ahhh! Misunderstood the question. I thought it was your favourite film involving an alien not your favourite film out of the Alien series. :) F - Must try harder.

I like Alien 3 and I'll defend it to the death! It's just not my favourite. If you haven't seen the director's cut you absolutely must!
 
The 2nd, Aliens is by far the best, it's actually one of few sequels that improved upon the original. Alien was also great. But Alien 3 and Ressurection were horrible. Alien vs. Predator isn't worth thinking about, terrible, but that's what happens in the hanRAB of an incompetent director!
 
I won't say! You just have to watch it.

All I will say is this:

They catch the Alien ;)

And yes I will fight to the death! I thought Alien 3 was a perfectly bleak ending to a series that could only end that way. And as far as I'm concerned, it should have been over then.
 
Swirlygirl - you are SOOO right!

Alien 3 was a cinematic masterpiece - a real return to the original Alien ethos of suspense over action. I think a lot of people hate it because it wasn't "Aliens 2".
 
I find it amusing that you wrote "Aliens 2" immediately after my post using "Aliens 2" to berate people who expected Alien 3 to be a sequel to Aliens. :D

You, I presume, actually mean "Aliens", not "Aliens 2".
 
So does that mean we could call Alien Resurrection Aliens 3? Or Alien 4? Or Alien 3 2? In a way it could be considered "Aliens" since it is similar to that film in that it is action-packed and less about the suspense of the first and third. In which case you could consider Alien 3 the real Alien 2, although I wouldnt call it Aliens as there is only one alien and the point about calling Aliens Aliens is that that little "s" at the end is oh so significant. Even though they filmed it all with only, what was it, 8 alien suits altogether? As for AVP, we could call it Alien 5, or Aliens 3, but not Alien 3, although i would just call it Alien Shit.
