What's your favorite Horror flick and why?

The psychological horror films are the truly scary films. Blood-and-guts just gets ridiculous and comical rather than scary. Nothing wrong with that though - Evil Dead 1 and 2 and Peter Jackson's Braindead are two of my favourite films, but I regard them as comedy more than horror.

Jaws was terrifying because I saw it far too young...still can't swim in the sea, or even swimming pools, without being scared. It still shits me up, that film.

Alien is a great horror film.

The Others is a very classy, old-style horror film. Maybe not that scarey but definitely spooky and chilling.

Psycho. Thats a good 'un.
 
my favorite film is The Lost Boys :cool: , its not that scary though, not a film but i do remember watching the mick jackson video for thriller and i thought that was scary at the time :eek: ( i was only 7 )
 
Mine has to be "A Nightmare On Elm Street," the third one is my all time fave, but without the first one it wouldn't have been made.

I saw the third one when I was about 11 and it scared the bejesus out of me, with all those bodies hanging in the house :eek:

I have the 7-disc box set these days, it's my prized posession :D
