What's your fave PEDRO ALMODOVAR film?

Think he's one of the best film-makers of the past 20 years. Love lots of his films but my fave still has to be "WOMEN ON THE VERGE ON A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN". Brilliant film.

Im doing higher spanish at the moment and since there are some fifth years in the class we can only watch 15s by almadovar, so far we have watched Women on the Verge,(thought that was brilliant, realy funny especially the music, thought that fitted really well) and All about my mother(IM actually not sure that is the name, again that was really good and funny, especially agrado lol) and we watched half of Talk to her I think it was called with the Bullfighter and the woman in the coma, we arent watchin the rest until the end of term.

Think Women on the Verge is probably the best of the ones we have seen and the least explicit especially after that black and white scene in Talk to Her. lol

All about My Mother - however, I've only seen three of his films (All about My Mother, Bad Education and Law of Desire - liked all of them very much)

Had to bump this after watching Volver. An absolute joy of a film to watch and one of his best. Penelope Cruz is brilliant in this and a possible contender for next years best actress oscar. Anyone else seen it?

I saw it last night - absolutely wonderful film. Penelope Cruz is an amazingly powerful actress as well as an incredibly beautiful woman and has been very poorly served by the films given to her in Hollywood. Volver was far more restrained than many Almodovar films but was truly haunting and will stay with me for a long time. A classic for so many reasons - acting, story, empathy, music, cinematography etc, etc. I can't recommend it enough.

Not seen all that much Almodovar, but of the stuff I've experienced, I've found "Todo Sobre Mi Madre" to be the best. Looking forward to renting Volver when it arrives on DVD - I've heard good things else...
