whats your fave oily fish?

Snap. Also mackerel. One of my favourite snacks: Open tin of mackerel and drain off half the oil then drain the other half into a frying pan and heat slowly. Into the slowly heating oil add a finely sliced stick of celery and a finely chopped half onion. Let them fry until transparent then add the mackerel and break it up with a spatula into the celery and onion. At this stage add a good sprinkle of dill. Beat two eggs in a bowl with a drop of milk and a pinch of salt. Once the fish has got hot, poor the eggs over the whole thing, increase the heat and keep stirring until it reaches your preferred scrambled egg consistency (I don't like it totally set myself, but that really is a question of personal preference). Serve on two slices of lightly buttered wholemeal bread. I love to accompany this snack with a pickled gherkin. Et voila: mackerel scrambled egg on toast, fit for a king, affordable to a peasant, ready in 10 minutes.
Try it, highly recommendable.

Herring is my fav--sooo good! Try the Roland brand (v. little salt and there are a lot of different sauces it comes in). But mackeral is really good too, esp. before a workout.
