whats your FAV food for a different culture?

My favorite is probably Chinese food, Cantonese style. I do know
that our Chinese food here is different than what is cooked in China.
But I prefer the "American" traditional Cantonese Chinese food I grew up on. And it's harder to find, since the fast food places have sprung up. And those serve mainly stir fry with spicy sauce now. I do miss not getting the original flat Chinese egg noodles that have a better taste than the spaghetti noodles they now use, because they are cheap to buy for the restaurants. I had a passion for those thin flat boiled noodles as a child. Using just soy sauce liberally over and through them.
We tend to go to a well known Chinese buffet out of town, that
has the largest assortment of main entrees of Chinese food you
could ever find, or expect to find, under one roof. So far, it's a bargain
at one low price for as much as you want to eat. We never eat enough
to really get our moneys' worth. Because we fill up too darned fast.
Maybe it's because we're senior citizens now and our appetites are
shrinking along with the rest of our bodies LOL.
