What's wrong with protecting a private businesses rights?

Your arguments don't make any sense. You keep going on about how people's greed is stronger than racism, but history is against you. Yet you shove your head in the sand and pretend 1800-1964 never happened. How can someone be so fucking dumb?
 
If you have a business license stating that your "business" is making friends with people in exchange for US currency, then no you do not.
 
Systemic discrimination leads to the very social instability that led to the Civil Rights Act to begin with.

I'm retarded because I don't think it's unreasonable for someone who owns a business to decide who they do business with, whether or not most reasonable people would disagree with the choices they make.

I'd like to think that too. People are inclined to help one another out, and needless to say, such an inclination presents absolutely no conflict with my philosophy ... as long, of course, as it's exercised by choice.

That really depends on the scale of the thing. When the sole grocery store (or hospital, or water utility) in a part of rural Montana changes management and will no longer sell to the one family of Lutherans in the area, it's more serious than silly.

How do individuals protect vulnerable minorities from harmful forms of discrimination without violating the right of businesses to discriminate?
 
Indeed. A principled doctor would take the oath. I don't suppose a doctor who is more concerned with "free market principles" is in the right profession.

It's not about "making racism legal" it's about allowing a private business to decide who they do business with, based on whatever criteria they want. Maybe they don't want to serve you because you drive a Honda, or because you have a mustache, or because you're white, or because you aren't white, or because you dress suspiciously, or because you have brown hair, whatever. They provide goods or services and you are privileged to be able to purchase those goods or use those services. They don't want to do business with you, should be "Too bad, you don't get a say in how my business functions."

But I forgot, not letting someone use your optional service is comparable to forcing harm upon them, such as shooting them in the face.

You're a member of the "Healthcare is a right!" crowd, aren't you?
 
Because it's super logical to have a RIGHT to go on to someone's property and it's super logical to have a RIGHT to their services.
