Whats wrong with my fish? - an unusual case.?

I've got some King Blue Tetras.
One day I discovered one with its upper lip apparently bitten off. Over the course of month or two others have suffered the same fate (the fish are otherwise fine and this does not effect their ability to feed).
I've not caught them at it but I recon they fight and the victor takes the loosers lip, could this be the case or is there another issue?

(I also have a pair of Golden Rams - perhaps the culprit is here, though if so they have left my Neon's alone.)

It's the rams...

You do know they are cichlids...although they are less aggressive than other cichlids...they are not the social butterfly

I keep mine with other "slightly bully" fish---angles and kribs, I've never tried to keep them with Tetras

It sounds to me like mouth rot or mouth fungus. That or they're chewing on things they shouldn't be. You're other fish would not attack their mouths and no other part of their anatomy.

You should Google mouth rot and see if any of the pictures look similar. If they do it can be treated with a general fungus treatment, but i think you get ones specifically for mouth rot as well

gd luck x
