Whats wrong with my dance mat?

A few weeks ago I bought a DDR Bundle thing and all the sudden the mat doesn't work. I plug everything in, I turn on my PS2, the game tells me to press "start" and I do, but nothing happens. No noise, no actions or anything. What's wrong? And is there anyway for me to fix it?
 
im sorry but i dont think theres any way you can fix it. You could try calling the company or may have to take it back im sorry. If i find a way to fix it ill tell you
