What's wrong with my bike?

I like to pedal uphill in high gear (2,7 of 3,7) and when I do, it feels like the chain is popping backwards if you pedal hard enough. Usually "hard enough" means you're not standing up and pedaling up a hill. I just had a guy fix the derailleurs so that's not the problem.

Its a couple year old walmart bike. Could it be that I stretched the chain out?

I have seen Walmart bikes jump the chain on the smallest sprocket in the rear no matter what you do. You could try to use 3 and 5, it should give you the about the same gear ratio. Most Walmart bikes have a cheap derailleur that doesn't have an "B" adjustment screw that controls how close the derailleur is to the cassette.

Either the back wheel is not tight in the bolt on drop-outs or the chain has stretched or the teeth on the cogs of the freewheel are worn. Being that this is a Wally world "bike" then it is no wonder that it has problems. Aside from that the derailleurs were not likely the problem in the first place although they needed an adjustment or five. Im going to guess the chain is stretched!
