whats wrong with my back

About ten yers ago i had two discs removed since them my back has been great untill this week i just bent over to pick something up and my back went as though something had fell in my back arround the scar area where i had the op. The pain is really bad and some how causes my hips and back to seize up mainly when i have laid down are been sat its horrible i have no leg pain. I went to the docters and he said he dosnt think its a disk again as it didnt hurt when he lifted my legs etc. I have been taking volterol but its not helping can any one suggest whats best to take i just feel sick and in pain, also has anyone else had the same problem with their back.
 
Hi no x-rays done? I never had back surgery but think the Dr. would order x-rays maybe your next visit. I had facet joint pain and it hurt getting up from the bed and facet joint injections have helped me. Heat/ice packs could help if it's muscular as well as massage has helped me. Thanks for your reply, no ive not had an xray i think if its still this same this week i will go back to the Dr. I have been putting an ice pack on but dont really think it has helped i will keep trying though. I dread getting in to bed as i can guarantee every night as i get in its at its worse i feel something move in my back somehow.
 
I think it's a good idea to see the doctor and at least get an x-ray, tho they aren't a lot of help showing disc problems. If the x-ray is negative, ask the doc to run an MRI. If there is something going on in the lurabar region, it's best to take care of it sooner rather than later.

I am going back to dr cant cope any more, i was having ice packs om my back all day yesterday n it felt a lot easier untill i got into bed then that was it couldnt move in agony. I got up this morning sat on the toilet and a massive thud went in my back it was so painfull, the area of my back that it is happening is where my scar is from having my disc removed. Sorry for moaning on.
