What's wrong with my 2003 Toyota Echo?

I've had this Echo since June 2010 and a couple months ago and I noticed recently (past 3-4 months) that I need to keep the key turned for a while before it starts. It doesn't start easily and I'm thinking that it was because of the weather getting colder.

One day, I tried to start my car and nothing happened. No sound. No lights. Nothing. I look under the hood and it's a tiny battery. It was obviously dead so I get it replaced.

Being silly, I go to Walmart for a new battery. As an extra precaution, I go to AutoZone and they do a courtesy check on my alternator and nothing turned up.

Roughly two weeks later, the same thing happens. No noise, no lights. I didn't drive it for about a week, so I'm not sure what happened. It had absolutely no charge. I blamed myself for getting a Walmart battery and refunded it to get a new one.

I go to Autozone and get a Duralast thinking that this'll be the end of my problem. The car still takes 2 seconds to start. It doesn't turn over as quickly as the other cars I'm used to, but I just assume that it's because it's a small car and it's left out in the cold a lot. ONE WEEK later after 3 days of not driving it, my battery is dead again.

I don't know what to think.

I don't have a trunk light, I don't have a glove box light, and I keep my dome light off at all times; I don't have an internal clock, I always turn my headlights off, and I got my alternator checked.

I know if this problem keeps happening I'll have to get it looked at, but I'd like to get an idea of what I'm dealing with before I commit to making a payment on something I may not be prepared to cover.
