For the past couple of days, I've been trying to figure out why the temperature gauge on the dashboard keeps fluctuating. The temp needle will usually go up about mid-way through the gauge, and then fall back down, nearly all the way to the "C" (cold) level. Note that the car would have been well warmed up at around this time. One mechanic I took it to said it was a leaky radiator and fixed it. That didn't work, so yesterday I took it to another mechanic, and they said it was the radiator cap being worn out, and so they replaced that. Regardless, the temp gauge is still fluctuating between mid-way and cold. Usually all cars I've ever driven have the temp gauge constantly around half-way. What do you think might be going on?
Also, I think this might have a relation as to why the car isn't blowing much hot air. First it blows warm, then soon goes to lukewarm. It usually repeats this cycle, but randomly. I don't know what's wrong.
Another thing is that the hazard lights are not working. I checked the fuse, but it's fine. What could be going wrong? Relay? Switch (man, I hope not...)?
Any help (especially for the first question) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Yes, I forgot to mention that. The thermostat has been replaced with a new one already. It can't possibly be that.
