When its stopped it idles rough, occasionally white smoke comes from the engine bay (the mechanic says this is because its from before PCP or PCV values, whatever it is). I thought that to until I noticed that whenever I put too much pressure on the accelerator the engine starts to sputter and the smoke gets worse and follows the car. It hasn't died yet though and made it up a pretty large hill. Another mechanic noticed a misfire in a cylinder, what do you think is up? I would do an engine rebuild but I don't want to do that until I have the 1959 Impala I bought to play with.
Do you think this old killimo's engine is at the last of its days? The tranny seems pretty smooth so that's something that doesn't need to be done.
