What's with all these remakes?

i take your point in -
but i just see how all these other remakes have been lately - particular over the last couple of years (which has seen a surge of recent remakes like never before) - and mainly they havent been very good.
it will be sad to see Short Circuit remade badly - if other remakes have anything to go by - however - a remake will at least boost interest in the original.

if Johnney 5 is cgi - i will cry.
 
i was under the impression there was a TV movie 20 years ago!
This is one remake i would look forward to - this being the kind of film i would enjoy.
 
Keaton was always very enthuseastic about the original planned sequal - but i dont think Burton is now.
It was to be about Bettlejuice going to Hawaii!
my opinon of this is - a think a sequal with the original cast would be far better and well recieved then an actual remake!
and i cant see Russell Brand doing this - he will have to fair well with Drop Dead Fred - which itself is having problems getting off the gound.
