Liberals and Democrats whined for the entire 8 years that president Bush was in office. They even drove around with their little stickers with the "W" crossed out. They maligned him every chance they got. I'm not saying it was undeserved, simply remarking on the observation. They whined, for eight straight years. Whined. Now... conservatives and Republicans are finding every reason to whine about Obama. He's a socialist, apparently. He wants to brainwash your children. He's not a U.S. citizen. He eats puppies (kidding...). Anything. Whining. THEN... both sides accuse the other of whining and sour grapes. They both whine. Constantly. Why don't people actually debate the issues instead of make irrational assertions and accuse each other of something both sides are guilty of?
Wow doinou, that was profound.
iwanttokno22: I like your answer.
joevette: I'm well versed in American history and the ground-up construction of the American political system. Understanding the creation and evolution of American government and politics is central to the study of law. I'm not asking for a history lesson, I'm merely asking why people find it necessary to whine and accuse the other side of whining, rather than take part in educated, vibrant discourse. I have my own theories, but its nice to exchange ideas. So far, I'm pleased with a number of answers.
joevette: I agree with you. I too am extremely tired of the bipartisan struggle that does nothing but divide the nation and keep people in contention, rather than cooperation. And yes, realistically, everybody is getting screwed.

Partisan politics are a great way to keep people at each other's throats. The public blames one party or the other, but in reality it should be all about issues and candidates. A united public would be much more difficult to mislead.
