You will spend hours waiting around in front of a warehouse, probably filling out paperwork, mostly doing labor work, maybe digging 10 foot deep holes for fences or posts, fix vehicles for more than 10 hours a day, sitting around complaining about how back the cellphone signal is.
You carry around a 17 pound rifle with you 24/7, not to fire until given explicit orders.
You haul supplies, food and goods from one village to another, then once you get there they say the order was messed up so they make you drive all the way back.
Dust storms are red, and it is very difficult to open your eyes.
You rarely ever get a call at all about a mission, most of them are just simple convoys. You get home sick, you are often prone to getting shot by someone if you are far enough outside of your post. If you goof off too much, you may piss some villagers and get yourself shot. Getting shot is like getting hit by a truck.
You come back home, getting asked by people "How hot was it?" or "How many people did you kill?".
