I'm just looking for a few whacky ideas in what kind of cupcakes to bake and make for a friends upcoming cupcake/muffin party! x) other than the traditional/cliche 'chocolate, strawberry, blueberry' etc.
It's not wacky or weird, but perfect for this time of the year--pumpkin spice cupcakes with maple cream cheese frosting. It's really yummy.

* Tiramisu cupcakes - espresso cupcake with a marscapone frosting
* Peanut butter cupcake - rich chocolate cake frosted with peanut butter cream frosting
* Caramel Machiatto cupcake - chocolate cake with a caramel center with mocha frosting and top it off with a chocolate covered espresso bean
* Irish Cream cupcake - chocolate cupcake made with a touch of Irish Cream topped with a buttercream made with more Irish Cream
* Carrot cupcake iced with cream cheese frosting
* Caramel Apple cupcakes - a yellow/white based cake made with fresh apples topped with a caramel buttercream
