When I was a small boy I was visiting my aunt and uncle in Dixie Idaho. The population there must have been well under 100 at the time so as you can imagine it was a very woodsy little town. Nice to be in but it was thickly wooded and neighbors were football fields away from eachother in the thick forest. Well, like everyone else, my aunt and uncle lived in a little 2 story log cabin and it was old. It was so old that the bathroom was a separate building about 40 yards from the cabin. One night it was really dark out and I had to pee reeeeeeeeaaaally bad. So I went out to the bath house and relaxed. At that point I was already so scared that I was ready to spend the night in the bath house rather than go traipsing back to the cabin through the woods. I being very young though was not smart enough to realize that if I waited long enough someone would come out looking for me. So I stepped outside and began walking back. As I was walking under the tree canopy I heard something growling above me. First it sounded like a dog and then it hissed and screamed at me. I looked up shaking to see two large yellow eyes glowing in the night from the tree stand above me. It was a HUGE black panther. So, I ran as fast as I could toward the cabin. I think that is the fastest I have ever run even to this day and I am 18 now. Oh yes by the way, the panther did chase me. I was close enough though that I was able to get back to the cabin before it could catch me, see; my uncle had two large dogs that he kept on a chain that he had rigged to allow them to circumnavigate the property without them getting loose. They woke up and they barked at the cat and it ran away as I clambered up the steps and into the front door. I swore to my aunt and uncle that I would never go out at their house after dark ever again unless one of them was with me. WHO THE HELL KEEPS AN OUTHOUSE THESE DAYS ANYWAY?!?!?!
