whats the point of installing a game to your xbox harddrive?

dont you have to pop the disk in anyway so it can read that you have the game or something? so whats the point of it?
 
Loads much faster, DVD drive runs quieter.

They have to make you put in the disc, or piracy would run rampant.
 
I agree with you. The thing is, you won't hear the disc spinning, but you will still have to have it in there. Also it is pointless because it slows down you 360, and if you ask me, i would rather hear something that makes a tiny noise, rather than playing on a laggy or slowed down 360.
 
The same reason you need to do it for the ps3 its just so it can read it faster and so it knows what your putting in
 
The only reason why you pop the disc in is to verify that you bought it. The actual reason to install it on the hard drive is that you won't have to use up its laser which will lengthen its life and the load times will be much faster
 
The Xbox makes less noise when you install it and the game will run noticeably more smooth.
 
faster load times for some games. for others slower loading.
but also some games like fable 2 have better graphics`
