whats the point of a pit bike?

So whoever made them can make a bit of money selling them. They are cheap crap and i would never ride one. LOL i heard this guy at skool telling everyone that his 125cc pit bike is faster than a racing 250cc dirtbike because the pit bike is lighter. I just cracked up laughing at the idiot and told him to go race his pit bike at a MX track with some other 250cc racing bikes. A proper dirtbike could run one of those pathetic pitbikes over snap it in half.
 
Pit bikes were designed to be a cheap easy way to get around the pits at a race.They are easy to haul and store and don't cost much to operate.
