What's the name of this book?

I can't remember the name of a book I used to love to read as a child. I only recall one scene from it, in which the little girl draws on her teeth w/ pen to make them look like piano keys, I also remember her going into detail about how angry it made her mother. If you've read a novel that sounds like this, please let me know. Thanks!
