does anyone know what kind of application this guy uses on his n73? that shows the ram and the menu system at the same time? any url?

Just a note - Handy Taskman does have a great interface and it's nice that you can access it by holding down the menu key but if you're going to pay for a task manager IMO it should be Best Taskman. Unlike Handy, Best Taskman can access and close the hidden processes on your device. Beyond that, it can access and run the hidden apps like Navigator, Positioning, etc...
 
Good point, though having tried them both, I enjoy Handy Taskman's simplicity. That and i have those navigator and positioning apps on my E62 and find them absolutely useless, lol. Do you use them? specially with Smart2Go out now?
 
Second the use of Handy Taskman for it's simplicity.

Between assigning apps to the hot keys available on the N73 and Handy Taskman, I hardly ever have to go digging through the apps or other folders to find stuff. The menu you see in that pic is dynamic. It's kind of like a 'recent apps' menu that is constantly updating as you use apps on the device.

Not familiar with Best Taskman other than it's name and availability. Rcadden recommended HT in a thread long ago when I first got my N73....and that's what I went with
 
Do I use them, absolutely not!

I use Tom Tom only as I find it the best option available (including Route 66). Admittedly, I haven't tried the new ones including Smart2Go but I've read about the capabilities of all of them and I'll stick wih Tom Tom...

As for Best Taskman, I wouldn't be using any Navigation if it wasn't for this app. Many devices are shipped with bluetooth nav disabled and the only way to enable it at this point is with Best Taskman (by accessing the hidden Location app).

Although I haven't played with it yet, the Landmark app looks pretty cool. You can record your GPS position and message it to another S60 S3rd device owner - who can then load it and use the built-in Nav app to Navigate there. Pretty cool!
 
I'll agree. This weekend I'm going to purchase a 7-day license for Nokia's Smart2Go and do a video driving around with TomTom and then with Smart2Go, though I can already tell you TomTom is the clear winner for me, for numerous reasons. Though I could see myself picking up Smart2Go if I went to a city i'd never been to. I'm a HUGE fan of the pricing structure.

I didn't know that about the Landmarks app, though none of my friends have 3rd edition phones, or GPS, for that matter, so that part isn't really appealing, lol.
 
Yeah I'm in the same boat. Anyone I know with a 3rd edition phone is in NYC and you usually don't need to help a taxi driver or a subway train find a destination. Still a cool concept though - PM me if you ever need to navigate to the NY/NJ area and I'll message you my landmark...

Looking forward to the vid but as you said, I don't think anything could ever sway me from TomTom. Even when I'm in a car with integrated navigation I prefer TomTom! So many features, POIs, excellent info display beneath the map, etc. It does everything you need and more. The one thing I can say is that apps like Smart2Go would likely be usefull when visiting another country as you wouldn't have to go through the trouble of finding, buying, and loading the appropriate TomTom maps. Plus, with the US map at 1.2 GB+ I doubt another map would even fit on my MMC without me deleting some stuff...

This is pretty much the sole reason I like TomTom better. That and TomTom defaults to showing you headed down the road, while Smart2Go (at least as much as I've gotten to play) just kinda moves across the screen. I.e. in TomTom the map moves while in Smart2Go YOU move.

But my fave in TomTom is how it shows your estimated arrival time. I use this every single morning on the way to work. It's not like I need to navagation, ovbiously, but it's fun to see what time I'm going to get there, it's usually +- 1min.

Another cool note regarding landmarks. If you have Handy Weather and your city is not listed, you can add it using a landmark. Pretty neat and saves the trouble of googling/converting your lat/long...
 
Do you know if it can be transferred to another phone after you purchase it. I want to get it for my E50 but also later use it on my N95. Is it authorized through the IMEI or is it just a generic authorised .sis?
