dealng with nuclear war? I remember reading a book about a small valley in the US which is somehow protected after a nuclear war. I also remember another scene (maybe a different book) where a family block all the air holes in their house to protect themselves, but forget the chimney hole. Only a small girl survived by staying under a table? with a tablecloth? I think she then gets taken out into the world by her brother? Have booking looking for this book for years.
