This is for a 1994 model.Even though it isn't a good car for the winter i still would like to take it out sometimes. I was wondering what can i do or tune up to prevent problems in winter conditions. For instance snow tires, smaller rims etc. I won't be taking it out during rain or snow, just maybe on a chilly day. I live in Nyc by the way. Thanks in advance.

(this is my boyfriend talking) best tips are to get a good set of bridgestone blizzaks. they are the best winter tire out there. another tip, get some sand bags to put in the trunk for weight. have a bucket of kitty litter on hand as a traction aid. make sure to get a good road hazard bag. walmart sells decent ones. they have jumper cables, minor first aid kit, blaket, flashlight, tow rope and other such winter necessities. also try to have a small shovel on hand in case u need to dig ur way out.but the biggest winter preperation is to control your driving habits. drive conservatively. dont necessarily drive like a turtle, but just realty gauge ur driving style. specially since an RX7 is rear wheel drive

park it in the garage and buy a junker. that car has no businees being on the road in snowy conditions.

All season tires. Since you are not going to be driving in the snow all the time snowtires wouldn't be needed. At least if you get caught in the snow with all season you will be alright. Goodluck.

I drove one for 2 winters. Not the ideal car to drive in the snow. I put about 350 lbs. in the back for traction and it helped a lot. If had had a different car to drive I would have parked the RX in the winter I'll tell you that.
