whats the last five films you watched

No Country For Old Men - another lousy Cohen brothers effort, they used to be the dogs b*llocks, not anymore. 2/10

Half Nelson - so you're in Tesco looking for something to watch and the DVD cover is covered with '5 star' ratings. Gotta be good then, no chance. Hollywood trying to do art-house. It was crap and a bit unintentionally creepy. 2/10

Little Miss Sunshine - another DVD cover with '5 stars' all over it. I've learned to avoid these films especially after Half Nelson and the equally smug Sideways (one of the greatest things ever put on celluloid if you believe RottenTomatoes.com ) so I avoided Little Miss Sunshine for a while. Then a friend recommended it and I thought 'what the hell, it's got Toni (Muriel) Collette in it'. What can I say? Amazing. One of the best films I've seen in years. Superbly acted, it was warm and touching and the last ten minutes were so, so wrong it was hilerious. 10/10

London To Brighton - wasn't sure what to expect with this film but it was pretty good. Gritty, grim and grubby but a good film. 8/10

Godzilla or rather Gojira - it's Saturday night and theres flip all on, you can't really go wrong with a bit of Godzilla. Yep it was a bloke in a rubber suit, it was black and white with subtitles but it just hit the spot.

Inland Empire 8/10
Yella 8/10
In Memory Of Me (In memoria di me) 6/10
Mr Magoriums Wonder Emporium 5/10
The Water Horse: Legend Of The Deep 3/10

Halloween (Workprint)

This Is England *****
Hot Fuzz * Major disappointment
28 Weeks Later *** End sucked

at the cinema:

1. El Aura - Argentine film saw last night, pretty good
2. 28 weeks later - pretty good for a gore-fest which isn't normally my type of film
3. 1 franco, 14 pesetas - spanish film, set in sixties Spain & Switzerland funny & a good tale
4. The Painted Veil - beautiful scenery & loved the music at the end.
5. Becoming Jane - James Mac Avoy yum!!

1. Hot Fuzz - very funny, and I'd be able to watch it over and over
2. Magicians - I love Mitchell and Webb, so I thought this was great
3. Deja Vu - Much better than I thought, I loved it. Probably the best film I've seen for a long while
4. 300 - Fighting, Fighting, Nudity, More Fighting, Blood and Gore = The Perfect Film. Almost, if they left out the wife back home scenes.
5. Pirates 3 - Not as good as the first, better than the second. Knightley and Bloom can't act, but Depp and Rush were excellent, and the story was complicatedly good.

(The films are listed in order of when I saw them - first to last. Quite a decent list, really)

1) V for Vendetta - very good, original and has given me a weird "thing" for Guy Fawkes masks...ahem..
2) An American Haunting - the less said about this one the better!
3) Bride and Prejudice - great colourful girly movie and an interesting Bollywood twist on the Jane Austen classic.
4) The Devil Wears Prada - an ok movie made better by the performance of one Ms Streep!
5) Brokeback Mountain - Great acting, lovely scenery but otherwise could have been a made for TV movie if it wasn't for the gay theme.

All films (except no 4) courtesy of my online dvd rental company!

White Palace How can you go wrong with Susan Sarandon and James Spader? A love story with a difference. One of my favourite films ever.

Sex and the City Overhyped. Thought the first half was boring, but it did pick up a bit towarRAB the end. Not one I'd watch again

Juno
Loved it. Thought Ellen Page was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this film.

Penelope If you're into rom coms/chick flicks and you want to while away a couple of hours watching something thats not too taxing on the brain this is the one for you, plus it has the added bonus of having the lovely James McAvoy in it.

Babel Not one I would have watched normally, but recommended to me and so pleased it was. I thought it was an excellent film and well worth watching.

Something's Gotta Give (TV) Hilarious!
She's The Man (DVD) Beyond hilarious!!
High School Musical (DVD) Rubbish - very bad acting and cheesy songs
The Long Good Friday (DVD) - Brilliant
Casino Royale (Cinema) - Good but way too long
