What's the influence of rap, metal, rich lifestyle, etc on today's youth?

I've noticed that some people idolize celebrities far too much these days. They want to dress like them, talk like them, look like them, basically some adolescents praise the ground celebrities walk on. I believe that music has shaped the culture of today's youth to something most undesirable. Some young men look towards male celebs as father figures and role models, when they really are anything but. The same goes for females.

Of course this isn't backed up by facts, but what do you all think?

I couldn't agree more. Most musicians (any genera) are very poor role models. Their values are skewed and they are uneducated buffoons. Don't get me wrong, I love most of today's music, but luckily am old enough not to look up to these morons. Every generation goes through this and people grow up and out of their youthful idolizations. Usually no permanent harm is done from emulating less-than-stellar stars.

Coz society thinks that if they'll just be themselves, the society on its own will laugh at them coz they're odd & weird.

I once was the victim.

But still dont follow lifestyle bullcockingcrap.
