WHAT'S THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN NEXUS ONE UNLOCKED OR LOCKED?

An unlocked phone will work with any gsm simcard ,a locked phone will only work with certain simcard from the operator you buy the phone from.If you buy (especially with a contract) from -say- Tmobile,it wont work if you insert a simcard from AT&T or others gsm operator,it will only work with Tmobile simcard.
How to know?
- if you can insert 2 different simcard from 2 different operators and each of them on your phone you get service,its unlocked already.
- if you buy the phone on contract,its locked.you cant use with any other simcards.
