whats the difference if 2 people are going to drivers ed, but 1 didnt take...

...knowledge test and the other did? Does the person who didn't take the knowledge learn more?

I'm really confused.

My friend is in drivers ed and she didn't need to take the knowledge test to get her permit

today, i took the knowledge test and got my permit

and im going to take drivers ed

does that mean i wasted my time studying to pass the knowledge test?

or the person who didn't take the knowledge test will have to stay in drivers ed longer to learn more??
