whats the difference between using the 2 rear rca output jacks nd using just

1 with Y spliter? someone told me that the reason y i smoke 1 of my sub is becoz im using a direct rca line from my rear rca jacks at the back of my head unit to my mono amp

he told me that,that was a foul move....he instructed me to buy a Y rca spiltter and use only 1 of the 2 main rca line

is there any diffrence between the 2?
