What's the difference between dog grooming clippers and regular clippers used...

there isn't but you should never groom a dog if your not trained as they are very sensitive one wrong move there vicious for life

There is very little difference, unless you need commercial clippers. I use Laube clippers on my horses and dogs as well. You only need to make sure that the blades are very sharp on whatever clippers you use. My groomer friends use Wahl clippers unless they have a very heavy coat to deal with then they break out the Osters or the Laubes. The poodles get the Laubes when they are matted, my Cavalier King Charles only need the Wahl's from time to time on their feet. I use the Laubes on the horses because they require a good bit of clipping without the clippers getting hot.

A clippers made for animals (like Oster or Andis) runs at a higher RPM per minute...has a fan to help keep the clippers cool and has heavier duty blades to maintain a sharp edge longer and cut through thicker tougher hair. An animal clippers is made to run for a longer period of time and take more abuse. The higher RPM helps the clippers glide through a dogs haircoat.
