what's the difference between Chevy impala SS and LS?

The SS stands for Super Sport. The SS is designed with performance in mind. The LS is suited more for economy. As far as which is better, it depends on what you are looking for. If you want performance, you will want the SS. a side from minor cosmetic changes, the two cars are the same.
 
which one is better? do the cars at least still look the same? does one have more automatics then the other? does one have a better engine- V 6? which one?
 
The SS has a V8 engine and is aimed to be more of a performance vehicle. The LS has a V6 engine and is aimed to be more of an economy vehicle.
