What's the big deal about Texas A&M Fish Camp?

My friends asked me if I signed up to go to Fish Camp and I say, "no," and they freak out because supposedly Fish Camp is one of the greatest experiences ever at A&M. My question is - does it really matter? Registration is closed but why are my peers so worked up about it?
 
Because Fish Camp is where you get fully indoctrinated into the cult that is Texas A&M.

lol, I'm just kidding. My experience is that some students at A&M go all in for everything about the A&M tradition, some go in for some of it, some go in for not much. Watch for those friends to freak out if you don't want to go to yell practice.
