I have a lot of electronics in my car and I don't know what the best way to power all of them are. I'm a storm chaser and a volunteer ff. I have a decent amount of lights, a siren/pa system, a couple radios, a computer, a camera, and a few smaller electronics like my phone. 10 pts to BEST ANSWER!

My answer will be from doing 10 years of stereo equip. installs and working at various auto part stores... Run a seperate power source (preferably an optima red or yellow top) installed wherever you want to install it...you can buy a battery box to put it in and mount it in a sturdy area...depending on the vehicle that you have ( Chevys and Ford truck/suvs) have kits to install a second alternator to keep it charged... the optima batteries are gel cell batteries that are almost impossible to kill....but again it depends on the amount of money you want to spend...also you will need to purchase power invertors with 120 watt or better plugs...some you buy now will come also with USB 2.0 plug in ports!

then you should set your car up like the police do, an extra alternator to charge a pair of batteries in the trunk, a fuse box meant only for those extra electronics, and run all the extra stuff off those batteries only.
